In this course, we will discuss many of the viewport enhancements that have been introduced in 3ds Max 2010. We will be highlighting some of the viewport enhancement features that are part of 3ds Max 2010, and how they can be used to give us much more accurate feedback of lighting and shading directly within the viewport. We will take advantage of new features such as viewing real-time shadows and ambient occlusion, as well as instantaneous viewport feedback for photometric light profiles and camera exposure controls. We will also explore new features such as real-time display of the Daylight system, and several display improvements found on architectural and design materials, in addition to several other viewport enhancements. By utilizing these new features within 3ds Max, we will have a much better idea of what types of results we can expect when rendering. By taking a lot of the guesswork out of the rendering process we'll be able to work much faster, and more efficiently. Software required: 3ds Max 2010 and up.
