Sprinkler Talk by Project Fire

The course will cover a wide range of topics related to the automatic fire sprinkler industry. The course will focus primarily on Industrial/Commercial risks under BS 12845 and LPC sprinkler codes but will also look into Residential/Domestic applications and other related standards. Students will gain an appreciation of the whole life cycle of a sprinkler system from initial considerations, sprinkler design, installation, commissioning, signalling, testing and maintenance. The course is designed to give a broad overview of the niche subject of automatic fire sprinkler systems. Examples of topics covered include: how a sprinkler system works, different types of sprinkler system, history, statistics, water supply options, pipe connections & supports, sprinkler heads, basic design considerations, frictional loss calculations, life safety, service & maintenance, comparison to mist systems, wet & dry risers and extent of sprinkler protection.
