Soccer Goalkeeping Essentials

Get more goalkeeper training so you can be the best version of yourself. The goal of this course is to ensure that you really understand the most important parts of being a goalkeeper: difference makers and technique. In addition in mastering the concepts, there are practical training exercises that you can use on the pitch, in the backyard or indoors. Parents and coaches can become more fluent in the things that matter for the position. In addition, they can help their goalkeepers improve considerably. 

Most keepers do not get enough training with their club. There are not enough hours or goalkeeper coaches. This position is technical in nature so technique mastery can be a huge difference maker. Goalkeepers can take ownership of their training with this supplemental training program. As with every skill, success depends on working towards the goal of getting 10,000 hours of training. 

The course designed with best practices in goalkeeping and learning. Each concept is introduced via video, a short quiz is required to ensure mastery and training exercises are demonstrated via video. There are also training plans included. 

The course is taught by Chris Mumford, a professor of innovation at UNC Chapel Hill and Wake Forest University. Involved with goalkeeping since 1983, he is focused on hacking the position and identifying ways to get better faster.
