AC motors' are playing important role in day to day life. AC motors' are considered as best performing machine to convert electrical power to mechanical power. Near about 80 percent load on the Power System in of AC motors. AC motors are more efficient in comparison to the DC motor due to the less maintenance, high efficiency and long life. The A.C. motors are the backbone of the industry.
So Electrical engineers should understand the construction, working and modeling of AC motor in detail.
This course has designed to build the strong fundamentals of AC motors from the beginner level.
Various types of e.m.f,s induced in armature and the field winding in a.c. commutator motors and effect of the same on motor performance.
In this course, candidates will be learning, Construction, Working Principle, Types-Uncompensated and compensated type, Type of connecting compensating winding, effect of compensation of current input, losses, power factor, speed, torque and commutation. Phasor Diagrams, Power Factor, Simplified Phasor Diagrams, Detailed Mathematical Analysis for the assessment of Performance Characteristics, Speed Control and Starting, Applications of Uncompensated and compensated type Single Phase A.C. Series Motors.
After completion of this course, the candidates will be able to determine the faults and analysis of the same of Single Phase A.C. Series Motors.
