A login and signup mechanism is a standard function of any website, much more so for those who need users to build an account before interacting with the website/services, such as Facebook, Google, and others.
Codeigniter 3 does not have an authorization system. I'm not sure why because laravel already includes it. This means that if you need to create a login and signup system, you must start from scratch, including creating the form to collect data from users, creating tables, and creating the back-end. Oh, and one more thing: you must validate the form before inserting it into the database.
I'll begin by guiding you through building a SignUp and Login framework with CodeIgniter and then through the process of validating user accounts in this course. This course will verify the activation email I'm about to give you.
This course will show you how to deliver activation messages and provide you with ideas for validating accounts. You can learn how to verify the form validation using CodeIgniter and then search for and insert new users. A few additional choices under 'Submit an Email to consumer' enable you to send an Email containing text/HTML. In complete, I will provide you with the source code following the end of the sequence.
