Jing, qi, and shen are three of the main concepts shared by Taoism and Chinese culture. They are often referred to as the Three Treasures, an expression that reveals their importance and the close connection among them.
In Chinese tradition, the "Three Treasures" are the essential energies sustaining human life.
Jing 精 - "nutritive essence, essence; refined, perfected; extract; spirit, sperm, seed"
Qi 氣 - "vitality, energy, force; air, vapor; breath; spirit, vigor; attitude"
Shen 神 - "spirit; soul, mind; god, deity; supernatural being"
The Huainanzi, an ancient Chinese text, describes qi and shen with xing 形 as "form; shape; body".

This course will share how to find and listen to the Three Treasures, their movement and structural mechanics within the 8 Pieces of Brocade (Baduanjin), Standing Stake (Zhan Zhuang) and Eight Trigram Palm Boxing (Baguazhang) so that you can begin to develop the Six Harmonies and the Three Treasures, which form the foundation of all aspects of the movement arts.

The Baduanjin is famous for strengthening the kidneys which in turn strengthens a person’s Jing. Jing is stored in the kidneys - kidney health is essential for a healthy body and a harmonious long life.
