This course will teach you how to use different machine learning algorithms in the context of data science. In order to learn how to use these algorithms, the course will show how to implement them using the R statistical programming language in the R Studio environment. Additional topics addressed include data preparation, data visualization, and model improvement. The world of Data Science is an ever-changing field that utilizes the tools in this course to find patterns and make predictions based on data that is readily available. This course takes a learning by doing approach which means that students who enroll will use R and R Studio in a step-by-step manner so that at the completion of this course students will be able to implement these tools on their own.
The R language is a tool used to create visuals as well as to conduct advance statistical analysis. Being free this has led to an explosion in the use of this language for analytical purposes. Although the main audience for R is academics anybody who wants to learn how to use a computer language in order to manipulate data and implement statistical algorithms can benefit from this class. Therefore, this course is for anyone who wants to learn more about statistical analysis in a computer context.
