In this course, you will learn the basics of the free office software OpenOffice Writer. Writer is the app in the open office suite which could be most easily compared with Microsoft word as it serves to let you write and format text based documents on your computer. Typical applications for using Writer might include writing reports, essays, or creating simple forms for printing out and filling in. You can also add images, borders, define margins, and the like to improve your document design. Documents created in writer are generally stored as .ODT which is compatible with similar apps like Microsoft office and can be converted to PDFs as well.
