The "Medical English for ESL Students and Professionals" Part 2 consists of 23 lessons, over 4 hours of recordings and 463 Medical English words and phrases. All lessons have text, pictures to study from, and recordings of the teacher. Some lessons have also exercises to practice the newly learned terminology.
In the Intermediate Level the difficulty is higher than in the "Medical English for ESL Students and Professionals" Part 1 . Here the texts are longer, the words - more complicated, and in the recordings the teacher speaks faster. There are different medical topics which help the students not only build up Medical English vocabulary but also learn/review/ and most importantly - be able to participate in discussions on important Western medicine subjects. The topics are History of Western Medicine (covering nearly 5000 years of history throughout the ages), Chronic Diseases (covering 7 of the most common chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, etc. as well as different types of mental disorders), Infections and Infectious Diseases (including a review of virus, bacterial and animal cell, the different types of viral and bacterial infections, and their treatments), Cancer and Cancer Treatments (including a review of cancer cells, Western medicine and alternative medicine treatments of cancer).
