This is an introductory science course and is the basis for further study of physics, chemistry, biology, earth science, and other sciences. This flex course involves the investigation of the structure and properties of matter, and the interrelationship of matter and energy in the physical world. Mathematical skills through pre-algebra are used in problem solving. Moderate workload can be expected through projects/assignments. The class will cover the following topics: What is matter, How are atoms and molecules related, How does particles behave in the states of matter, chemical and physical changes, elements, compounds, and mixtures, energy, temperature, and heat. Lessons will include a warm up, direct instruction (video), individual/group, class discussion, and exit ticket. I will be availabe by email and messaging. This is a middle school science course
