This course will cover all you need to understand why metals are so important to humanity. The material herein covers portions at a range of different levels and will be useful for students studying in the UK. It covers the different types, the extraction process to obtain a particular type of metal, magnetic metals and the properties. You will also learn where metals come from and how metals can be mixed to create new metals that have all the qualities we need in the construction of a range of structures. You will learn about iron ore and how iron is extracted on a large industrial scale. It will cover a brief description of the periodic table and the arrangement of metals within it. The course also aims to explain trace materials, primarily metals in food consumption and what these elements can do to enhance our health and wellbeing. The course looks at metals with a generic approach to tackle as many areas as is possible. If you have an upcoming test, this course will give you the information you need to become well informed on the subject of metals. The course will also touch briefly on non-metals, however since this is not the primary focal point of the science syllabus, it will only be covered very briefly.
