In this course we discuss the key requirements for the successful management of people in an organization. We start with a brief overview of the contemporary research and debates in the field of HRM and discuss the aims and the HRM function and its practices. This leads to a conversation about effective leadership characteristics and the theory and practice of motivation, commitment and engagement. Then we explore how to support professional behavior and ethical practice by, and assess the contribution of HRM to leadership within the organization.
This course examines effective communication and interpersonal skills, which are necessary in leading and managing people.
