The main objective of the course is to make the interfacing of 8086 microprocessor with different peripheral devices. The course mainly covers the interfacing of 8086 microprocessor with the following peripheral devices:

1. Memory device-RAM and ROM

2. Input and Output devices

3. 8255- Programmable Peripheral Device

4. DAC-Digital to Analog Converter

5. ADC-Analog to Digital Converter

6. 8257-DMA Controller

7. 8259- Interrupt Controller

8. 8251-USART (Universal Synchronous Asynchronous Receiver and Transmitter)
