Hoshin Kan Kata - Passai Dai

This course provides instruction for the Karate Kata Passai Dai.  In addition to the basics of the Kata, various Bunkai options are also presented.  The techniques presented show a mix of striking, throwing, and locking skills.  This material is not specific to any style, instead reflects the interpretation of the students of the Hoshin Kan.

Passai Dai is an intermediate to advanced Kata that is currently practices in Shito-Ryu, Motobu ha Shito-Ryu, and various other forms of Karate.

Passai Dai translates to "storm the fortress."  This Kata is notable for its forward pressure and its use of dead weight principles.

This Kata is a great addition to any martial artist's curriculum, even if it is not inherently found in your style of martial arts.
