In a modern world, believers and non-believers have something in common: difficult questions. Questions about God and about traditional assumptions regarding God. In the process of modernity, some chose to depart from traditional beliefs and others chose to hold on to them despite the questions. The purpose of this course is to suggest a God perception, which is different than the traditional one and that is appropriate to the patterns of thought of the 21st century.
Modern consciousness includes - individualism, the value of freedom, the importance of science, the idea of historical development, preferring natural and rational explanations over mystical and supernatural explanations, and more.
This preliminary course claims that modern consciousness does not necessarily contradict God belief, but that a conceptual transformation is needed regarding many traditional concepts, and especially regarding the central concept of traditional belief: God.
This new understanding can bridge the gap existing between religious and non-religious, between believers and atheists, living together in a modern world.
