Sadly, many parents would not know how to help their own baby or child if an accident or illness was to happen at home.
In response to the current challenges of social distancing and other local restrictions, we have moved our popular First Aid for Parents course, online.
Developed off the back of the popular, 5 star rated, face-2-face course, the course includes lots of walk through videos and short knowledge checks to keep you engaged and only takes 1 hour to complete.
This can be done on a computer, tablet or even a mobile phone. Maybe even with a nice cup of hot chocolate once the kids are in bed!
Our first aid trainers are also parents themselves and guide you through lots of topics from the treatment of cuts and burns, to how to spot the signs of meningitis. You will learn what to do if a baby or child isn’t breathing as well as extra things you can add to your first aid kits. If you pass the test at the end, you will also be emailed a certificate.
The course covers;
What is First aid
Phoning the emergency services
Adapting your first aid kit for children
What to do if your child/baby:
- is unresponsive
- isn't breathing
- is choking
- is bleeding
- has a burn
- has a bump to the head
- gets bitten or stung
The signs and symptoms of meningitis
Febrile Convulsions and what to do
You will also be able to access free information resources that can be downloaded and kept at home as a reminder.
