Learners will be able to describe and explain the options associated with different processes for sourcing. They will look at the legal and ethical impact of corporate social responsibility on their sourcing process. In learning outcome 1, learners would understand options for sourcing requirements from suppliers, learning outcome 2, they will understand the key processes that can be applied to the analysis of potential external suppliers, learning outcome 3, students will understand compliance issues when sourcing from suppliers and learning outcome 4, understand ethical and responsible sourcing. The module carries 6 credits. You will identify the sourcing process in relation to procurement, differentiate between approaches to the sourcing of requirements from suppliers, define selection criteria that can be commonly applied when sourcing requirements from external suppliers, define award criteria that can be commonly applied when sourcing requirements from external suppliers. Learners will further analyze commonly used sources of information on market data that can impact the sourcing of requirements from external suppliers. Learners will identify the key processes used for obtaining quotations and tenders, identify the criteria that can be commonly applied to the assessment of quotations or tenders and finally analyze how electronic systems can be used to help the sourcing of requirements from external suppliers. Learner will also compare the key legislative, regulatory and organizational requirements when sourcing in the not-for-profit, private and public sector. In the last chapter, learners will describe the impact of international ethical standards on procurement and supply, identify practices that support ethical procurement, compare the use of audits and other feedback mechanisms to evaluate ethical standards in the workplace. Learners would be expected to contrast processes and practices that the organization could adopt to meet the requirements of corporate social responsibility. The impact of corruption, bribery, fraud, human rights and modern slavery are interrogated and the implications of these assessed.
