Flowing from the mindset of ‘Development’, the performance framework includes alignment, expectations, and accountability. Actively engaging the Performance Growth Model begins with alignment. As a leader and a team, you intentionally focus on individual and organizational alignment. Once alignment is considered, what are the expectations for performance? Asking constituents to participate with you in this process creates far more engagement than a top down directorial approach to goal achievement. Buy-in to a shared vision and engagement with goal achievement is fostered when the leader and constituent clearly and thoughtfully develop expectations collaboratively. When expectations are clear, accountability occurs much more easily. The leader and the constituent have collaboratively-developed and agreed upon accountability measures.
