Designing a Personal Website

Do you want to expand your professional reputation online by promoting something that you are really good at? Showing your peers how you can contribute to a skill or capability is not always an easy thing to do.

In this course, I will guide you through a seven-point plan to design and build a personal website that will enable you to promote your expertise, engage the right audiences, and build your online reputation.

You only need to start this course with some basic computer skills and an idea of what kind of expertise you have, which you would like to express to others online. Together we will explore your purpose, audience needs, branding, storytelling, and website planning and building. Part of the seven-point method is to also make you think about how you can best utilise a personal website to make it work for you.

The course is focused on planning and developing a strategy for your website rather than guiding you through the actual process of creating the website. However, the course does finish with some suggestions for platforms that you could use to build your website and some basic guidance to show you how to create a free WordPress website, to help you get started. You are not required to use WordPress for your personal website unless you want to.
