Chess for beginners to intermediate players (ELO 0 - 1600)

If you are an absolute chess beginner, then fret no more. This course is packed with essential information that would improve your play to the next level. This course comprises 5 sections.

Section 1: Chess rules (This section is meant for absolute beginners which teaches you how to set up your chess board and pieces the correct way, how the pieces move and capture and the dos and don'ts of playing gentleman chess.)

Section 2: Algebraic notations (If you wish to raise your chess skill to the next level, you would need to pick up chess books and learn from the master games. However, all the chess games are recorded using algebraic notations. In this section, I will share with you how to record and interpret the algebraic notations, which are essential skills for you to learn in order to unlock your hidden chess potential.)

Section 3: Tactical themes and motifs (Chess is 99% tactics. For beginner to intermediate level, the fastest way to improve your chess is to hone your tactical skills. In this section, I will share with you the tactical tools that strong chess players use in their games to give themselves that extra edge.)

Section 4:  Typical novice pitfalls (In this section, I will share with you the basic opening principles that you can follow to get a good game. Nevertheless, you may still end up losing the game if you don't observe your tactics in the opening stages. Hence, I will be sharing with you the most common opening traps and mistakes that beginning players have to watch out for. If you are lucky, you may even catch your opponent off guard and make him your prey instead.)

Section 5: Basic checkmating patten (What is the point of getting a good position if you can't checkmate your opponent's king which is the ultimate goal of the game? In this section, I will share with you the most common checkmating patterns that you need to know to win your games.)
