Part 1:  Calibre Skill:  Learn how to reformat ePUB Public Domain books - split HTML - to create TOC

6 Major Concepts:

1. Learn to find public domain books using the Gutenberg site. There are over 57,000 free public domain ebooks for you to download so that you can read these books with your Calibre software or any eReader you might have.

2. Some public domain books are thick and difficult to navigate inside the ePUB book because they are not properly formatted with TOC. The HTMLs do not match according to new divisions of chapters so you are going to find the right HTML location to split up the chapter divisions.

3. You are going to learn how to split the HTMLs into 2 sections to get the right location to create proper sections for your chapters.

4. You are going to learn how Calibre generates the HTML code for the new split HTML to keep your book consistent in the formatting. This is the magic of Calibre. If you know HTML codes, like me, I can key them in, but even if you don't, you need to know what is happening in the editing screen as you make these changes.

5. You are going to learn how these divisions enable you to have the TOC generated with the .toc.ncx that I taught youin the last tutorial.

6. Finally, to have a better feel of each chapter division starting on the new page, manually put in the page break into the HTML section to make your ePUB book even more pleasurable in the reading.

Part 2:  Calibre Skill:   Learn To Create Stand Alone ePUB Books from Thick Volumes/Box using

5 Major Concepts:

• Learn how to  use the Calibre software to create individual ePUB books from thick volumes or box sets of anthologies.

• Learn to how to use the ePub Split Plugin to help you separate  these thick volumes into new individual books with separate dividers.

• Learn how to customize and  configure the ePUB split plugin onto the main Calibre toolbar.

• Learn how to link a new css style sheet  to give command to the  Calibre software so that it coincides with the ePub split plugin to find  the location for division.

• Learn how to match the corresponding # HTML files correctly to  the command split "#pgepubid0000#" so that you include all the HTML  files into the new book.

• Learn how to extract the selected content of the HTML files to create new stand alone ePUB books.
