The Importance of Body Language and Non-Verbal Communication

In this course, we will look at the importance of body language communication and by looking at examples we will lay the foundations of how to read body language in your everyday life.

We will look at what body language is and how you can use this type of non-verbal communication to project a positive and confident image.

The body language of men as well as women will be illustrated with video examples, helping you to quickly recognize it in dealing with other people.

The course will lay the foundation for essential skills you can use in your everyday life, by developing your knowledge of non-verbal behaviour.

You will learn how to interpret and analyse cues from the following areas:

• The importance of observation in non-verbal communication

• Cluster behaviour and how several gestures can combine to project a certain meaning

• Approaching people with confidence even if you do not know them

• Barriers between people and how to overcome them

• Detecting deception and lies from even small indicators

• The meaning of touch and how it is used in body language communication

• Patterns in movement and its potential meaning

• Principals of attraction

• Confidence in business and presentations

• Body language in interviews and what to avoid

Unlike many other courses, this course uses real actors demonstrating in videos how you can easily learn to analyse aspects of facial and bodily gestures that form part of personal and family relationships, deception, lie detection, business, selling, confidence and presentation.

After this course, you should be able to interpret the non-verbal signs which you encounter in your everyday life – helping you to communicate and present yourself with confidence.
