Beginning JavaScript and jQuery

jQuery is a lightweight library that makes it easy for you to develop applications in JavaScript. It is fast becoming the most preferred JavaScript library. This course teaches you all that you need to know to leverage jQuery and JavaScript to develop exciting web applications.

You’ll begin the course by learning the basics of JavaScript and how browsers use it. You will move on to look at the JavaScript syntax—such as comments, operators, and more—and then variables and functions. As you progress through the course, you’ll learn how to control the flow of your application by utilizing loops and conditional branching to your advantage. After learning the basics of JavaScript, you’ll start with jQuery and see how to use it in your programs. You’ll discover the features of the Document Object Model (DOM) and learn how to manipulate it. The course concludes by giving you a quick overview of some advanced jQuery features.

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills and the confidence to start building your own projects or add value to an on-going project.
