A biblical understanding of the end of the age

2 Peter 3:13 “Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.”

There will be a complete absence of sin in the new earth. In the above passage of scripture, the Holy Spirit through the apostle Peter teaches us that righteousness will dwell in the new heavens and the new earth. Currently, those who are righteous, i.e. the saints, dwell in this earth. But nevertheless, sin still dwells in this earth and not righteousness. And so, currently it is only those who reside in heaven, which experience an environment where righteousness dwells, but we, who dwell on the earth, have no idea what it is like to live in an environment, where there is the complete absence of sin. And so, as far as the earth is concerned, it is only when God creates a new earth, that righteousness will dwell there, and no sin will be present. Because even during our Lord’s millennial reign, sin will still be present on the earth, among the unbelievers being governed by the Lord Jesus and His saints. This course examines what the bible teaches us about the events that will take place after the Millennial reign of Christ.
